A Dutch doctor, working in the north-west of Haiti in a small town since 2001 shares her experiences with you. Not the medical things, but the remarks Haitians make, things they believe and do she encounters every day. Even though she has been in Haiti since 2001, she is still amazed in some things the Haitians in rural areas believe and do that seem so alien to people of Western developed countries.
So I found this woman in front of the surgery door waiting to get in. I asked her to have a seat and wait for the nurse to come out.
Later I found her standing right before the same door again. She had something in her hand. A cup with....urine.
She was standing in front of the wrong door! She had to go to the lab.
