A Dutch doctor, working in the north-west of Haiti in a small town since 2001 shares her experiences with you. Not the medical things, but the remarks Haitians make, things they believe and do she encounters every day. Even though she has been in Haiti since 2001, she is still amazed in some things the Haitians in rural areas believe and do that seem so alien to people of Western developed countries.
Een man komt op het spreekuur en meldt dat hij niet kan lezen (analfabeet). ‘Dokter, heeft u een leesbril zodat ik kan lezen?’
A man comes to the clinic and says he can’t read and never has been able to read. ‘Doctor, do you have reading glasses so I can read?’
